Design Process
Our goal with the re-design of Dr. Beverly Thompson’s website was to create a site that out-performed her
current one. In order for us to achieve that, we had to identify the elements present in the current design
that the site’s visitors were and were not responding to.
When we met with Dr. Thompson to discuss the look and structure of the new site, it became immediately
apparent that our starting point would be to close the huge gap between the cold, impersonal tone of her
current site and the vibrant, warm personality of Dr. Thompson herself.

While we typically advise our clients to keep their sites more professional than personal, we felt that a design that mirrored Dr. Thompson more closely would be beneficial from a business standpoint. Dr. Thompson specializes in non-force chiropractic and we wanted her new site to be a natural extension of her gentle, welcoming approach. Any type of disconnect between the image that is portrayed and the actual experience a prospective patient will have can be detrimental and our remedy was to match the two.

Once our strategy was in place we began crafting a design that was forthright in the sense that the client’s
contact information, biography and picture were all readily available and positioned to give people a good
sense of who the doctor was and the type of chiropractic care she provided. We chose a color palette that
was both warm and professional and added subtle accents and a handwritten font to keep it personal.
The back end of the website was built using WordPress as the Content Management System so that it can
grow seamlessly with the client, is easily maintained and takes advantage of the latest tools for Search
Engine Optimization.
